[I protest in the streets of Paris against the authoritarianism of those in power, of society, the university, and with women, against the social and political violence that they undergo, the sexism, the flagrant inequalities . . . These battles, these demonstrations are enchanting to me. I believe that they are just and I am no longer an individual. I am all women, all the excluded, all the colonized from the Empire and from within the country. It’s exalting. I am not a particular person. I have no family, no father or mother, no country. Nobody asks me who I am, whose daughter I am, where I am from, what is my place in society.][33]
